Forget about hauling your own gear or worrying about licenses – Captain Mark's got it all sorted. You and up to four buddies can hop aboard for a day of non-stop action, with all the top-shelf tackle and know-how provided. The beauty of this trip is its versatility. Newbies can learn the ropes and land their first keeper, while experienced anglers can fine-tune their techniques and go after that wall-hanger. And let's be real, there's nothing quite like the rush of a big striper crushing your lure or a bluefish tail-walking across the surface. Pack some snacks and drinks, and you're in for a day of fishing that'll have you plotting your next trip before you even hit the dock.
So what's the game plan out there? Captain Mark knows these waters like the back of his hand, and he'll have you on the fish in no time. You might start by trolling tube-and-worm rigs along the rips, where stripers love to ambush bait. When the bluefish are blitzing, it's time to break out the topwater lures and hold on tight – these guys hit like a freight train. If the fish are holding deeper, you might drop some live eels or chunk baits to tempt the big boys. And don't be surprised if you stumble onto some bonus species like fluke or sea bass. The name of the game is adapting to what's biting, and with Captain Mark's local knowledge, you're always in prime position to hook up.

Striped Bass: The crown jewel of Northeast inshore fishing, stripers are the main event on this trip. These hard-fighting fish can grow to over 50 pounds, and they're known for their powerful runs and acrobatic jumps. Spring through fall is prime time for stripers in Boston, with many anglers scoring their personal best during the summer months. What makes them so addictive? It's the combination of their size, strength, and the challenge of outsmarting them. Plus, there's nothing like the satisfaction of landing a trophy striper after a tough fight.
Bluefish: If stripers are the heavyweights, bluefish are the speed demons of these waters. Pound for pound, they're some of the hardest fighting fish you'll tangle with inshore. Blues typically show up in force from late spring through early fall, often creating surface blitzes that'll get your heart racing. These toothy predators are known for their aggressive strikes and blistering runs. Don't be fooled by their average size of 5-10 pounds – they punch well above their weight class. Hooking into a big 'gator' blue in the 15-pound range is an experience you won't soon forget.
Bluefin Tuna: While not the primary target, there's always a chance of encountering these giants on your trip. Bluefin tuna are the ultimate prize in these waters, known for their massive size (potentially over 1,000 pounds) and incredible fighting ability. They typically show up in the summer months, following schools of baitfish. Even smaller 'football' bluefin in the 30-50 pound range can test your gear and stamina to the limit. While hooking one isn't guaranteed, the possibility adds an extra layer of excitement to every cast.
Look, there's a reason why Captain Mark and Legit Fish Sportfishing are killing it in the Boston charter game. You're getting a world-class fishing experience right in your backyard, led by a crew that lives and breathes this stuff. Whether you're looking to fill the cooler with some tasty fillets or just want to bend a rod and make some memories, this trip delivers. The flexible durations mean you can squeeze in a quick morning trip or go all-out for a full day of non-stop action. And let's not forget the bragging rights – nothing beats showing off pics of that monster striper or bluefish you battled. So what are you waiting for? Grab your crew, book your spot, and get ready for some of the best inshore fishing Boston has to offer. Trust me, once you fish with Captain Mark, you'll be hooked for life.

Great skipper (capt Mark) and first mate (Danny). We caught plenty of Ling Cod and haddock, which they cleaned for us. Capt Mark’s boat is state of the art and he is very knowledgeable about local waters and fish. I would use him again.

Bluefin tuna are the giants of our local waters, averaging 6-7 feet and 500+ pounds. These powerhouses cruise the offshore waters, following bait schools. Look for them in areas with temperature breaks or near underwater structure. Late summer and early fall are prime bluefin seasons off Massachusetts. Anglers target them for the ultimate test of strength - a bluefin fight can last hours and leave you exhausted. They're also prized for their rich, buttery meat. To land one, you'll need heavy-duty gear and plenty of stamina. Try trolling with spreader bars or chunking with fresh mackerel. When you hook up, hang on tight and be patient. These fish will make blistering runs and deep dives. Local tip: watch for working birds to find feeding tuna. Just remember, bluefin are strictly regulated, so always check current catch limits before heading out.

Bluefish are the bad boys of Boston Harbor. These toothy predators usually run 3-10 pounds but can get up to 20. You'll find them churning up the surface as they attack bait schools - we call that a "bluefish blitz." They show up in early summer and stick around through fall, prowling the bays and nearshore waters. Blues are pure muscle and attitude, known for their aggressive strikes and acrobatic fights. Anglers love 'em for the non-stop action. To catch blues, try casting topwater lures or trolling with spoons. When they're in a frenzy, they'll hit just about anything shiny. Watch your fingers though - those razor-sharp teeth are no joke. For the freshest fillets, bleed and ice your catch right away. Fried bluefish nuggets make great fish tacos. Remember, there's a 3-fish daily limit per angler to keep the population healthy.

Striped bass, or "stripers," are a favorite target here in Boston. These fish typically run 20-40 pounds but can get much bigger. You'll find them near structure along the coast, especially around dawn and dusk when they're actively feeding. Stripers love moving water, so look for them around bridges, jetties, and rips. Spring and fall are prime seasons as they migrate. Anglers love stripers for their powerful fights and excellent table fare. To boost your chances, try using live eels or chunked mackerel - stripers can't resist 'em. When you hook one, be ready for strong runs and deep dives. Let the fish tire itself out before bringing it in. Nothing beats the thrill of landing a big striper after a tough battle. Just remember to check the current regulations, as size and bag limits can change to protect the population.
